Mold Symptoms – Is it Time for Remediation?

Sometimes the easiest testing tool to find out if you have mold in your home is YOU. Don’t believe me? Have a look at what The Mayo Clinic says are possible mold symptoms and when you may consider having the professionals come in, test, perform a remediation/removal and clean up.

Mold allergy symptoms can include:

“Where there’s mold on the wall, there’s probably more behind it,” can be said just as, “where there’s smoke, there’s fire.”

  • Sneezing
  • Runny or stuffy nose
  • Cough and postnasal drip
  • Itchy eyes, nose and throat
  • Watery eyes

And if you have asthma like some of our clients do, you might even be more sensitive to this. There are cases where exposure to certain kinds of mold have caused mild to severe asthma attacks. As anyone will tell you who has asthma or is close to someone who does, any asthma attack can be life threatening.

If you suspect mold is in your house, do some more detective work.

Has your home had water damage recently? Have you had the plumber over because you had leaky pipes somewhere? Do some rooms in your house tend to have a strange humid feeling when they shouldn’t? These are all signposts which can lead down the road to mold.

If your allergy symptoms are due to the dust and pollen in our Columbia Basin region there’s not much you can do about that, other than move to the Rockies! If you’re concerned that your symptoms are due to mold, there’s definitely something we can do about it. Many people do not realize how much allergy suffering is caused by the environment in the house, not just the environment outside.
